Are you an experienced Project Manager looking for new opportunities?

 

Engineers Without Borders Norway (EWB-N) is looking for a Project Manager for an innovation project for development of a new plastic recycle system starting January 2020. The project is a consortium between four partners and will pilot a new approach to shelter winterization; making insulation products in the field using recycled plastic as a raw material.

In addition to development of machine and material, the project shall map and identify routines for collection of plastic waste, types of waste material available in the dedicated areas, and propose solutions with an environmental and sustainability focus as well as local needs.

As part of the EWB-N team and together with partners, you will take ownership of the project and be accountable for the project schedule and budget. You will be responsible for the project from start to end, and are expected to be involved in all phases of the project: from start-up, defining the responsibilities of the partners, preliminary studies, defining specifications, building of machine prototype and refining of manufacturing process, testing in the field and evaluation. 

Our ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills, is highly motivated and disciplined and can give and receive feedback whilst maintaining professionality. You have an engineering background or can, as a minimum, document technical competency as developing the machine prototype and testing will be an essential part of the project. Further, you have excellent problem solving skills and the ability to make complex concepts understandable to a broad audience. The ability to assess and contribute to the project and the team, identify gaps, and develop and adjust plans for reaching the project goals and aspirations is something you are comfortable with.

You are a creative and proactive person with an analytical and solution-oriented approach. It is important that you are a team player with good communication, networking and interpersonal skills who meets deadlines and work calmly under pressure. 

You will be part of an international team in an international project which will contribute to the Sustainability Development Goals. The ideal candidate has international humanitarian experience. 

The position is a full time position for the duration of the project, estimated to be 18 – 20 months starting January 2020. EWB Norway’s Head Office is located in Oslo, but this position is flexible on location for the candidate. 

Some travelling must be expected.
