Haydom Sykehus ligger ca. 300 km sør-vest for Arusha, som er den største byen i nordlige Tanzania. Ca 400.000 mennesker betjenes av sykehuset, som i 2018 hadde totalt 350 senger. Stiftelsen Haydoms Venner har som hovedmål å sikre en stabil drift av sykehuset, og har jobbet med dette i flere tiår.

I løpet av dette feltoppdraget ble det installert 36 solcellepaneler, i tillegg kom ingeniørene med forslag til videre arbeid ved sykehuset, spesielt vedrørende videre tekniske installasjoner og forbedring av vanntanker.

In the summer 2018, 2 engineers and a group of three Bachelor with Meaning students from NTNU, traveled to Haydom to install solar cell systems.

Haydom Hospital is located approx. 300 km south-west of Arusha, which is the largest city in northern Tanzania. About 400,000 people are served by the hospital, which in 2018 had a total of 350 beds. The main goal of the Friends of Haydom Foundation is to ensure a stable operation of the hospital and has worked with this for decades.

During the field assignment, 36 solar panels were installed, in addition the engineers made suggestions for further work at the hospital, especially regarding further technical installations and improvement of water tanks.
