12.06.25 Digital Presentation: Waste@Work - phase 5

Thursday, June 12, 3:00–4:00 PM (CEST), we are pleased to invite you to a digital presentation of Phase 5 of the Waste@Work project in Senegal.

About the project
The project, led by Niafrangs Venner in close collaboration with local partners, focuses on circular plastic waste management in Kafountine, southern Senegal. This includes the collection, sorting, and processing of plastic waste into paving bricks at the local factory Kerewane Plastique.

Fieldwork spring 2025
For the past four years, Engineers Without Borders Norway (EWB-N/IUG) has been supporting the development of both the production process and the final product. In April, volunteer engineer Ida Øwre Lundby travelled to Senegal to contribute with her technical expertise. Her field work focused on improving health and safety in the plastic melting process, and on testing and installing new components.

During this session:
▪️Hilde Huus-Hansen (Niafrangs Venner) will provide a short introduction to the project.
▪️Ida Øwre Lundby will share her experiences from the field and present the key results of her work.

This is a unique opportunity not only to hear directly from Ida, but also to engage in a live dialogue during the Q&A session that follows.

We look forward to seeing you there and to an engaging conversation about local solutions to global waste challenges.
