18.09.25 Digital presentation: Digital Community Hubs
In February, master’s students Branny Lin and Ragnhild Bodsberg, together with their IUG mentor Nellie Sofie Body, carried out fieldwork in Uganda as part of their Meaningful Masters project.
Background
By mid-2024, a record 123 million people worldwide were displaced due to conflict, persecution, and human rights violations. From Palestine to Sudan to Ukraine, escalating crises are putting humanitarian organizations under immense pressure to innovate.
Digital technologies are transforming aid delivery and expanding access to vulnerable communities. Yet, in resource-constrained and complex environments, the risks are high—failed solutions can cost both time and lives.
Why join?
This session explores how NRC Uganda’s pioneering use of Digital Community Hubs provides an entrepreneurial response to these challenges. Discover how their approach can inspire broader innovation across the humanitarian sector, and learn how engineering perspectives and technical expertise can play a vital role in shaping digital transformation.
Joint us, and hear the master’s students and their IUG mentor present their findings, experiences, and perspectives from the project in Uganda.
