25.09.25 Digital presentation: Electrifying Health Clinics in Tanzania
We invite you to join a digital presentation of a Meaningful Masters project by master’s student Ingrid Schulstad and her IUG mentor Ida Fuchs, who conducted fieldwork in Tanzania in March.
About the project
The goal of this project was to develop a holistic, field-informed method for designing cost-optimized PV–battery systems that meet the energy, water, and mobility needs of rural health facilities in Chemba district. The research builds on technologies used by the Elico Foundation in Chemba and Kondoa districts.
The project addresses the key question: What are the optimal system sizes for PV–battery–inverter systems at dispensaries in Chemba, and how can water supply and motorcycle charging be integrated to make use of surplus energy?
Why attend?
Join us to hear directly from Ingrid and Ida about their field experiences and the practical results of the project. Discover how innovative PV–battery solutions can support rural health facilities and learn how engineering expertise can make a tangible difference in communities.
Don’t miss this opportunity to explore technical solutions with real-world impact!
