Etter at strømnettet i Gaza er totalt ødelagt, står befolkningen midt i en alvorlig energikrise. GEDCO – Gazas eneste strømselskap – ønsker å satse på distribuerte solenergiløsninger i gjenoppbyggingen, og har bedt IUG om støtte. 

I tett samarbeid med ingeniørene i GEDCO bidrar IUG til å utvikle løsninger som kan tas i bruk og skaleres etter hvert som situasjonen tillater det. 

IUG-frivillige har blant annet jobbet med å utvikle skalerbare solenergianlegg og opplæring av lokale ingeniører. Gjennom fagkompetanse, samarbeid og et sterkt engasjement bidrar vi til å styrke lokal kapasitet og legge grunnlag for at strømforsyningen kan bygges opp igjen.

Following the total destruction of Gaza’s electricity grid, the population is facing a severe energy crisis. GEDCO – Gaza’s only electricity company – wants to focus on distributed solar energy solutions as part of the reconstruction, and has asked IUG for support.

IUG is contributing technical expertise in close collaboration with GEDCO’s engineers, with the aim of developing solutions that can be implemented and scaled as the situation allows.

IUG volunteers have been working, among other things, on developing scalable solar energy solutions and training for local engineers. Through their technical expertise, collaboration and strong commitment, they are contributing to strengthen local capacity and lay the groundwork for rebuilding the electricity supply.
