ABOUT THE SEMINAR
A panel of researchers and experts from various technological and societal fields will discuss an important question: Who decides what problems technology should solve – and whose perspectives are heard?
Panellists:
▪️ Rolee Aranya
Rolee Aranya is a Professor in Urban Planning and leads the NTNUs Global South Initiative. She is responsible for promoting and reinforcing NTNUs long standing partnerships with institutions in the Global South. Bringing learnings from NTNUs experience on equitable partnerships and sustainable development cooperation to national and global debates is a large part of her work. Her own research centers around equity and justice considerations in climate policy implementation in urban settings. Ntnu profil: Rolee Aranya - NTNU
▪️ Tomas Moe Skjølsvold
Tomas Moe Skjølsvold is a Professor of Science and Technology Studies at NTNU and Director of FME NTRANS. Over the past 20 years, he has conducted extensive research on energy and climate transitions, focusing on the interplay between technology, politics, and the economy. Understanding how societal transformations unfold, how different interests and perspectives shape these processes, and how transitions can become more inclusive, democratic, and sustainable is a large part of his work. His research also explores the role of science, technology, and public engagement in shaping energy systems and responses to climate change. Ntnu profil: Tomas Moe Skjølsvold - NTNU
▪️ Tatiana González Grandón
Tatiana González Grandón is a Senior Researcher at NTNU, working at the intersection of economic and financial geography, participatory climate and energy modelling, and decision-making under uncertainty and risk. She examines how financial, mathematical, and infrastructural systems shape the distribution of opportunities across different places and communities. A large part of her work focuses on developing participatory approaches to climate and energy modelling and exploring how infrastructure investments and financial arrangements influence sustainable development and energy transitions.
