In April 2025, Meaningful Masters student Joar Dale Landa and EWB mentor Katrine Osgjerd Garnæs conducted a field trip to Albania, to investigate the impact of Solar Home Systems (SHS).

Ultimately, the study found limited economic returns but clear social benefits: reliable backup during outages, safer connections, and increased awareness of solar energy. Overall, SHS improve resilience and daily life, even where grid access exists. This master project was in cooperation with BRIGHT Products.
