Vår samarbeidsorganisasjon Trax Ghana jobber med små jordbrukssamfunn i Nord-Ghana. Organisasjonen opererer under tre tematiske områder: Utdanning og kapasitetsbygging, bærekraftig landbruk og matsikkerhet og likestilling.
I november 2019 installerte EWB-ingeniører solcelleanlegg med 32 paneler (PV) på Trax-Kavli-gården.
Som et ytterligere skritt i deres visjon, vil Trax utvide sin Trax-Kavli-gård med et samfunnsbygg. Målet er at dette anlegget skal være av utvidet nytte for samfunnet og for andre som kommer på jobb for å støtte Trax-initiativer og -prosjekter. Samfunnshuset er både et sted for kunnskapsdeling og for sosial aktivitet. Barna kan komme for å lese bøker eller bruke Internett, eller de kan komme bare for å være sammen med venner. Et nært samarbeid med familiene og skolene i nærmiljøet er grunnleggende forutsetninger for samfunnshusets suksess.
Ingeniører uten grenser (EWB) Norge rekrutterte ingeniører for å bistå i utformingen og evalueringen av samfunnshuset på Trax, Ghana.
Ingeniørene utformet planer for:
- Strukturelle aspekter (Formål og funksjonaliteter)
- Energi
- Vann og sanitær
Det ble også foretatt en bærekraftsanalyse for å vurdere klima og bærekraftsaspekter ved samfunnshuset i henhold til SDG.

In 2021, IUG's technical professional groups were asked to design and evaluate the construction of a new community garden at the Trax-Kavli farm. In addition, NTNU student Aurora Marie Jørgensen wrote a master with meaning where she developed a sketch for the new community center.
Our partner organization Trax Ghana works with small farming communities in northern Ghana. The organization operates under three thematic areas: Education and capacity building, sustainable agriculture and food security, and gender equality.
In November 2019, EWB engineers installed 32-panel (PV) photovoltaic systems at the Trax-Kavli farm.
As a further step in their vision, Trax will expand its Trax-Kavli farm with a community building. The goal is for this facility to be of extended benefit to the community and to others who come to work to support Trax initiatives and projects. The community center is both a place for knowledge sharing and for social activity. Kids can come to read books or use the Internet, or they can come just to hang out with friends. Close cooperation with the families and schools in the local community are fundamental prerequisites for the success of the community center.
Engineers Without Borders (EWB) Norway recruited engineers to assist in the design and evaluation of the community center at Trax, Ghana.
The engineers designed plans for:
- Structural aspects (Purpose and functionalities)
- Energy
- Water and sanitation
A sustainability analysis was also carried out to assess climate and sustainability aspects of the community centre according to the SDG.
